I count it a blessing to serve as President of the Alabama State Missionary Baptist Laymen. I extend sincere gratitude to Dr. Melvin Owens for this assignment. I am honored to follow in the footsteps of dynamic leaders such as Dr. Richard Showers, Sr., Dr. A. L. Folmar, and Deacon Alvin Moore.

One of the four purposes of the laymen is to cultivate the Christian life of laymen and junior laymen through study, worship, fellowship and service. Our goal is to involve every member of the Laymen Auxiliary across the state of Alabama in the work of Christian missions and Christian education. Additionally, we look forward to collaborating with the other auxiliaries of our Convention so that collectively we all can become better in this work.
